Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be focusing on what has now become known as “The Good Decade.” An era filled with eye-popping fashion, revolutionary media, and a nostalgia that brings about a certain joy to all. That’s right; we’re talking about the 1990s.
In some ways, it seems as if 90s babies were born at the perfect time. Technology wasn’t at a point where it dominated everyday life and culture like it does today; however, the 90s was also filled with technological advancements and revolutions that helped bring forth the current era of technology we’re in.
So 90s babies were able to enjoy a simpler world without the strains of modern advanced technology while simultaneously enjoying the benefits of the technological revolution. No other decade has fallen so perfectly into the cross-hairs of simplicity and technological advancement.
People who grew up in the 1990s were also blessed with some of the greatest forms of childhood entertainment ever. Toys such as Gameboys, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Furbies, and Trolls all emerged during “The Good Decade.” These toys (among many others) became so iconic that children from the 2000s clung to them for entertainment and formulating their own childhood memories.
Original and classical children’s games aside, the 90s also represented a decade of movies introduced as post-modernist experiments and have become known as classics today.
